I had an experience the other day with a friend where we sat for the longest time in the pure state of beingness, love, presence, bliss and wholeness. I did not want to leave the experience. My friend and I talked about how does one keep this pureness of being while functioning in the world.
This is what I am reflecting on this morning. I am realizing that how one can keep their pureness of being while functioning in the world is through compassion. Compassion for one’s self and for all others sharing in the human experience. Compassion: “co” meaning together and “passion” meaning a strong feeling. So to realize compassion we understand we are all in this together and when one of us suffers, we all suffer. This is the understanding that brings compassion to our hearts and makes us willing to reach out and extend comfort, concern, care, and love towards another.
Today my heart is open and receptive and filled with compassion.
